Today’s The Guardian article tackles this question, exploring how sugar consumption can lead to a quick spike in blood sugar followed by a “slump” – that familiar feeling of fatigue many of us experience.

I’m really excited to see it references our meta-analysis from a few years ago, which found that sugar doesn’t reliably improve mood or alertness and is often followed by a dip in energy shortly afterwards.
