New Review paper out! Defining Optimal Concentrations of Micronutrients for Health

What are optimal micronutrient levels for health? 🧬🔬

Our latest review in Mechanisms of Ageing and Development dives deep into this critical question and its profound impact on healthspan, exploring the importance of defining optimal concentrations of micronutrients in adults to optimize health.

Healthspan is the number of years an individual lives free from chronic disease or disability, emphasizing the quality of health and functionality during aging rather than just the length of life. Our review highlights the critical need to distinguish between normal and optimal micronutrient levels to reduce health risks and enhance healthspan. Establishing evidence-based thresholds that link biomarkers to health outcomes is essential for tailored supplementation and personalized nutrition
